Steve Brand was just passing through, looking for work. He found it on Judd Carter's Rolling C ranch. But before he could get settled in, a Cheyenne war party led by the vicious War Cloud struck and abducted Carter's beautiful wife, Allison. Brand had been an army tracker in his time, had wintered with the Cheyenne and even spoke their language. So Carter quickly hired him to lead a small band to rescue the girl. But there was more to the situation than Steve could have guessed.
